Maria Alvarado 08/15/2007 | I would really like to THANK Officer Benson and Detective Carrol for coming out to my job, Minyards Corporate Offices, today. I unfortunately was in an abusive relationship for 6 years (14yrs to 20yrs old) he was very mentally & verbally abusive, controlling, very jealous, manipulative, intimidating and threatening. I look back now and see that my EX-boyfriend had all the qualities of \"The Wheel of Power and Control\" and Im so fortunate & thankful that I did not end up a vicim, like so many of our women today. I was so young and \"in love\" (so I thought), I didn\'t see all of these bad qualities or signs in him. Although I will be the first to admit that my Intuition tried warning me as well as some of my family, but to me...\"they just didn\'t really know him\" or \"he was just misunderstood\"...famous last words of a fool!!! I am 30 years old now and have been happily married for the past 5 years and I cannot stress enough!! how important it is to listen to your INTUITION ladies!...because it\'s always right! I wished I had!! I could have saved myself plenty of heart aches, and abuse. I am just very gratefull that I finally opened my eyes before it was to late and left him. God is great! and wonderful! ....b/c I could have easily been a homicide case for Detective Carrol.
I will definitely be coming to your seminar at the Regional Library in downtown Fort Worth...bringing my little sister.
Thank You both! and may God always bless you and your families and may he always keep you safe.
Forever grateful,
Maria Alvarado

Annonymous 08/10/2007 | I attended your seminar today at City hall. I cannot express to you enough how appreciative I am that you and Officer Benson are presenting this material. I will actively promote this seminar to all of my female co-workers. Your seminar is NOT like all the types of media previously given to making women aware of their situations. I am facing some resistance from some women that I would like to attend based solely on the idea that \"they have heard it all before.\" This couldn\'t be farther from the truth. I have been privy to the world that women do not normally \"see\" around them but I have never been able to convey the stark reality of that situational truth. You have provided here an intense and well communicated presentation that, I believe, will help to bridge the gap in the world women think they live in and the world that they actually live in. Thank You. |

April 08/27/2007 | I just wanted to tell both of you what a great job you did last night on the Situational Awareness class. You are doing a great job representing the City of Fort Worth and the Fort Worth Police department by showing how much you care, and how dedicated you are to your jobs. I think it is awesome what you are doing and I hope that one day your idea can go nation wide. Please keep up the good work and reach as many people as you can. There is no telling how many lives you could save just through the power of education. |

Annonymous 08/28/2007 | As a male who has seen your \"session\" I was disgusted at your biased look on domestic violence since your \"program\" is not called situation awareness for women. You should include situations where women take care of the aggression and inform the \"public\", which is not categorized as male or female, of the dangers of domentic violence. Last time I studied this subject, it was not called male violence, but domestic violence. I was glad when it was over. |

Anonymous 11/01/2007 | Your presentation was an eye opener for me. I enjoyed learning the things that were discussed. i agree that we as women should try to do something to make sure that the offenders of such deadly and violent attacks don\'t get away with probation or nothing at all. Please keep up your hard work. The stories that were shared during the presentation brought it out and made it more real. Thanks! |

Anonymous 12/05/2007 | I attended your presentation Dec 4 with my daughter. I have seen your presentation before and knew how powerful the message was and knew that it would impact her life if she would just hear the honest facts from someone other than her Mom. The result was a young lady that walked out of that room as a confident, bold and much more cautions woman. Her last boyfriend was demeaning, verbally abusive, alcohol was always a factor, he always blamed her for everything, and many of the other warning signs you discussed. She saw everything you talked about in that relationship as well as a progression of the abuse she was experiencing. She was so relieved to know that her decision to end the relationship was the right thing to do and she said she would never allow that to happen to her again. You guys are awesome. You are changing the behavior of women and helping them not be a victim because of ignorance. Thanks for your sacrifice and service to our communities. |

Phillis 12/07/2007 | Officers Benson & Carroll:
Thank you for the care and concern you\'ve shown for the women in and around the DFW Metroplex. Your presentation on 12/6 was very moving as well as frightening. I spoke briefly with Officer Carroll regarding a family situation that mirrored the characteristics listed in your presentation. I was so shaken by the similarities that I could barely gather my thoughts to speak coherently to Officer Carroll. I do know that something needs to be done, and quickly - but what, how and how quickly?
Officer Carroll, if you can recall the brief details I shared with you at the company event on 12/6, and can provide direction, I would sincerely appreciate it. You may contact Teresa for an email address and/or phone number.
Please continue your efforts towards making women safe. THANK YOU!
Phillis

Ryan Benson 06/09/2008 | Thank you so much for everything you do. |

Heidi Swan 08/13/2008 | Thank you both Officers Benson and Carroll for your very well put together seminar. These are things that some parents warn their children about generation to generation. I was so naieve when I was a teen and into my later 30\'s; really unaware of the world around me because the news on T.V. was more or less just another show. I\'ve been blessed and fortunate from my past relationships that nothing really bad never happened to me...I was always \"out of the frying pan and into the fire concerning men\" drugs, alcohol, partying, and who I socialized with were always a bad mix. I had some real crazies; protective orders, death threats and a 38 pointed in my face. When I STOP and think and take a look back I Thank God I am a changed person, I could have been dead along time ago and not of had the chance to change my life neither do the wonderful and good things I do now. I live my life to serve others well being and my life is complete in Christ Jesus. I gave your information to the Campus where I am enrolled and hope they call you guys to present your seminar for thousands more to see and hear. Thank You So Much! |

Julie Creamer 10/20/2008 | I was so glad I made time to attend your awareness presentation. I wish this could get national exposure. Very well done and very informative. Thank you for your dedication and service. |

Melissa 11/14/2008 | I wanted to thank Officer Benson for an incredible presentation last week...very moving and intense. |

Anonymous 03/02/2009 | Detective Michel Carroll & Officer Rick Benson, I want to thank you for your class this week at my place of employement. I went to the class with a preconceived idea that I probably would not learn anything I did not already know. Boy was I wrong! I learned more from you two than the classes I have taken over the past 20 years. (to include the Feds).
Bottom line, you engaged your audience. Thank you for that. You helped us participate in the truth that is hidden. And best of all, I learned something that you probably did not mean to teach…you showed me that I do not need to be intimated when working with all our boys in the “gun club” because I have intuition to offer, and that is nothing to be ashamed of. Thank you for your appreciation of women and what we bring to the table. Thank you for offering protection in more ways than one. Your message is life changing to say the least.

Debbie 11/18/2009 | Thank you! I\'m glad to see your presentation is still being done (and done well). I saw it 3 years ago, just after my seperation from a pschologically abusive husband. The psychological abuse escalated for the next 3 months, even with a protective order in place, and 2 charges of breaking that order. I survived, with the help of your presentation and the support of some strong, wonderful friends. Thank you again and PLEASE, keep the program going and growing! I received a call from a friend during the program who is having some of the same problems and she wanted to be reminded of the phrase I\'d told her to always remember. \"That is an excuse, not a reason\". Every female needs to see your program, maybe more than once, so they will never forget! |

Christina Rangel 11/18/2009 | I enjoyed the presentation last night! I would love to get more information on how to get involved or help someone in abusive relationship. I have always been told to be there for them when they need you, however your presentation indicated we need to get involved now, I do believe when one of my own family member is in a bad relationship that is not save for them. That I should get involved. I just need more information and I have a lot questions. Please direct me to someone that I can call. |

Rick Benson 11/23/2009 | Christina, Please call 817.392.4302 and ask for our victim\'s assistance staff. They can assist you with all of your needs. |

Anonymous 12/28/2009 | Hello Rick and Micheal,
I have a concern about a police officer in the fort worth area and would like to talk to someone about this... He is up to no good and is hurting women in the dfw area. I know of 3 females alone including myself that he is trying to pull this nonsense with... Who would I need to talk to? |
